And these donors know that they can count on The Community Fund volunteers to conduct thorough reviews ensuring their money is being spent wisely and responsibly by the agencies that receive grants!
Every year The Community Fund of Darien conducts a residential campaign to raise funds to support approximately 30 local social service agencies in Darien, Norwalk and Stamford. Residents and businesses are contacted through personal solicitations sent three times a year. The Campaign runs until June 30.
Unlike a foundation, which typically gives away its income on invested funds, The Community Fund of Darien raises money each year and gives the bulk of it away the following year. Its overhead cost ratio is low at 13%. (BBB cap is 25%)
