Julie Genovese worked as an elementary school teacher and then a high school guidance counselor before starting her family. She has four children, ages 17–24, all of whom have participated in Community Fund youth programs, and she spent many years volunteering in their schools.

Julie has served on the Board of Directors of the Darien Depot and worked with Children’s Advocates of CT as a foster child mentor before joining The Community Fund's Board of Directors. She looks forward to bringing her passion for education and community service to The Community Fund Board.
