Freshman Community Group

FCG students will:

  • Engage in meaningful conversations and activities about the transition to high school including stress management, friendship, mental health, and substance use.

  • Learn about human service needs in our surrounding community

  • Volunteer with local nonprofit organizations

  • Work with TCF group leaders, high school mentors and a licensed clinical social worker

  • Learn about TCF’s two student groups for 10-12th graders, the Youth Asset Team, and the Youth Community Fund

At the end of their freshmen year, students will have the opportunity to apply for a space in The Community Fund’s Youth Asset Team or Youth Community Fund

Meetings were engaging, and I learned about challenges our neighbors face such as hunger and immigration issues.

My favorite part of FCG was volunteering and learning about nonprofits.

I liked learning about the differences between Youth Asset Team and the Youth Community Fund.
