Sarah McCarty
THRIVING YOUTH PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Sarah McCarty serves as Program Director of Thriving Youth Darien at The Community Fund of Darien, where she oversees a federal Drug-Free Communities grant through the CDC and leads initiatives focused on preventing youth substance use and promoting youth well-being. Under her leadership, Thriving Youth Darien has expanded youth-led prevention efforts, developed innovative community education campaigns, and shared its work at several national conferences. Sarah is passionate about empowering young people, fostering community partnerships, and translating research into practical strategies that help youth thrive. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Connecticut and is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work through UConn's School of Social Work. Outside of work, she enjoys teaching yoga, hiking, and spending time with her dog, Cash.
