The Community Fund of Darien offers a semester-long program for 7th and 8th grade students focused on contributing to their community.
The Community Fund of Darien’s Freshmen Community Group (FCG) is exclusively for high school freshmen. FCG students explore YAT and YCF groups so that they may make an informed decision as to which group to join in 10th grade.
Youth Asset Team (YAT) is a group of 10-12th grade students who meet bi-weekly to learn about mental health and substance use. Through a guided group discussion with a licensed professional counselor, they explore topics such as teen stress, peer and personal struggles, and substance use.
Youth Community Fund
10th - 12th grade
Youth Community Fund (YCF) is a group of 10-12th grade students who meet to learn about human service needs in our region. They solicit grant proposals from non-profits and award approximately $14,000/year in grants to non-profits.
